it's FRIDAY>> haa!! for once, my friday was neatly spent.. not at home or in school..i went for a movie with nicholas!! kekee.. Took us a while to decide what show to watch, since wedding crashes ain't showing anymore. Not wanting to waste money on lousy sg or hk show, we decided on a neutral show of documentary on penguins. During the show, we agreed that "March of the penguins" wasnt a bad choice! keke. We had japanese noodles for lunch, tks for the treat and the after movie drinks at starbucks left me having dinner only at 10pm at night. Thanks to the sugar content and CHEESECAKE!! Yay..

Took Prof Graham Brown's "Management of People at work", short form for "Organizational behavior". Was half an hour late for class.. but while i was expecting to see a short stumpy man with a full beard standing in class, i was more then surprised to see a good-looking, tall causasian speaking from the powerpoint slides.. keke.. He is a pretty interesting guy, with a good sense of humor. New at SMU, but quite adaptable to the culture here, he managed to wow the class with his knowledge and pleasant personality. I can say that the bidding $$ i spent on him was worth it ( until now) .. maybe because of him, i might want to take Human resource as my Major!!! keke..

Crashed a Stats class on thursday!!! Louis Ta is the prof, he is SO LAME.. but i think he act lame only. he was the only one who laugh at his own jokes, the whole class exploded because he is so weird.. but after the class, i realise that he is not that bad ( keep my fingers crossed).

Sighz i really dunno why choosing classes in SMU is almost like choosing husband!! have to invest time and money..

nice icy weather this morning.. rainy and all that.. Went down to acer to service my laptop.. but i am one of the most fortunate people to get chauffered.. hehe.. Louis offer to bring me down to acer to service my laptop. without him, i might just get stucked in the rain, feeling miserable.

After servicing the lappy, we went to eat lunch at Jurong east market. and it was Bak Kut Teh on the menum coupled with You Tiao (fried fritters). They tasted heavenly. hehe.. the meal was on me, in return for the nice gesture to send me to acer. THINK we might just be heading there next week again..

After the sumptuous lunch, i went back to school.. today's first day of school, and it was marketing. professor is new and she was so nervous.. and recalling the course i am talking this semester, i actually have 3 female prof and 1 male prof.. does it sound good?

Was talking to my dad the other day.. and i was telling him that i wish i learnt the piano when i was young, his concern was that i might be too stressed and decided not to let us learn other stuff and just get on with school work. he added saying that i am not talented enuff for music,,. I was so hurt! besides the fact that he hasnt even tried letting us play when we were young, he is making an uncalled-for comment.. sighz. even my parents have no confidence in me, why should i have confidence in myself?

was really bored this sleepy afternoon and so did some web surfing.. managed to chance upon some of my favourite astronomy objects.

Show u some pics. Think they explain much better then words.. as u can see, the big dipper has 2 stars at the end, when joined will point to polaris, also know as the North Star.

and the next one up is a picture showing some of the planets and constellations in the evening sky. The pleiades can actually be seen in singapore with naked eye too.

Auroras, one of my favourite, also caught my eye. there are millions of beautiful auroras pics in the world. But to be able to catch one in the sky is hard. Present only at that southern and nothern hemisphere (called aurora australis and aurora borealis respectively), we cannot see them in singapore. They are caused by charged particles from the earth's solar wind that interacts with the earth's magnetic field, thus causing the earth's upper atmosphere to glow.

This is a worth dying for natural phenomenon that i would like to see in my life.

This pic of curtain aurora over the forest is taken by Jan Curtis

The pic with a very nice pinkish skyline is actually the belt of venus. ( named after roman goddes) It is normally visible after sunset and when the atmosphere is clear and cloudless. It is in the opposite direction of the sun and reflect light from it, it is frequently seen in any horizon. This pic is taken in canada.

FINALLY the last and final show of the NDP, held yesterday at the Padang.. Had a super long day. Had dimsum early in the morning with Jeffrey and 2 swedish frens at 42 Smith Street, De Bao (Hong Kong Dimsum). It wasnt too shabby and it was quite cheap too.. (I am craving for XO fish head bee hoon right now).. we brought them around chinatown and bought some chinese new year decorations for their Christmas decorations *puzzled*.. but they explained that they like the red gold color of the paper motifs which is in sync with their Xmas theme color. They also bought some of their favourite snacks.. peanut "balls".

Meet up with the ushering team at 1pm outside funan and proceed to the city hall building to be briefed on our duties. my team was in charge of ushering local and overseas VVIPs to their seats. I was really stresssed out. They came in droves and being the big size ang mohs they are, they had difficulty getting through the whole row of seats but they had been nice and polite about it.. Was supposed to escort Mrs SR Nathan to her seat and the guy who was supposed to cue me didnt see her walk pass, and while i was waiting anxiously for her arrvial, an eyewitness told us that she is really at the seat.. haha.. All that worry for nothing. When the president leave his seat, a couple of us went down to direct the wat for the PM, MM and SM.. It wasnt that exciting as i thought it would have been.. but it was a a hair-pulling experience. I was really afraid that i might tumble down the stairs or make someone tumble down the stairs. haa.. But it was All good.. have some good fun with fellow usheres. They had been nice girls and boys.. Trie to save me from harrassing soldiers... haaa.. tks dudes and dudette.

After NDP, was supposed to go home and PIAH my QM assignment.. but decided to meet up with my swedish frens and we had dessert at Ah Chew's dessert..hehe.. honey dew sago was GOOD... and so are the rest of their chinese dessert.
